A support system allows patients to stay overnight in a partnered hospital hotel, either the night before or several nights after their hospitalization.
This hotel is located near the university hospital (CHU) and operates under an agreement with it. The stay is prescribed by a physician and fully covered by the French national health insurance.
Patients who may benefit from this service are informed during their preoperative consultation.
Relatives and loved ones are welcome within the facilities of the Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital (CHU). Each department sets its own visiting hours based on the specific care and treatments provided. These visiting hours are displayed at the entrance of each unit.
Visits from children under the age of 15 are not permitted, as they may pose health risks and could be emotionally affected by certain hospital situations.
For medical reasons, you may accompany a child under 16 or a person whose condition requires the assistance of a third party. In such cases, the attending physician must indicate the need for a companion on the medical prescription.
Subject to availability, one companion may be authorized—day or night—to stay with the patient, with the approval of the department supervisor. Meals for companions are available upon advance payment.
Companion fee rates are available at the admissions office of each hospital site.

Foyer Les Églantines – Near the Gabriel-Montpied Site
This residence welcomes families of hospitalized patients, allowing them to stay close to their loved ones. It also accommodates patients receiving outpatient care or attending day hospital services (subject to conditions). 6 twin rooms and 2 single rooms, with the option to add 2 trundle beds for children. Accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Maison des Parents Clermont-Auvergne – Opposite the Estaing Site
Located at 10 rue Lucie-et-Raymond-Aubrac, Clermont-Ferrand, directly across from the Estaing hospital site. Open Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Rates range from €8 to €32 per night, depending on household income.
This modern two-story facility includes 11 rooms, two of which are accessible to people with reduced mobility. Each room has a private bathroom. Shared spaces are available to encourage interaction and comfort: kitchen, living area, TV corner, computer room, laundry room, and cleaning areas on each floor.
