The Users’ Commission (CDU) strengthens the role and involvement of users within the hospital. It meets at least six times a year and proposes improvement actions in its annual report, aimed at enhancing the regular functioning of the institution as well as the quality of care and services provided to users.
Users’ Representatives
Users are represented through the Users’ Commission (CDU) and in several other bodies, including the Supervisory Board of the University Hospital (CHU). They may also be involved in projects or initiatives that require their input.

The University Hospital (CHU) maintains a partnership with patient and user associations. These associations have offices on both the Gabriel-Montpied and Estaing sites, where they are available to meet with anyone who wishes to speak with them. They can also be contacted at the association kiosk on the Estaing site (04 73 75 12 35) and at the Support and Information Center for Patients and Families on the Gabriel-Montpied site (04 73 75 10 84).

Mission of the Users' Commission
The CDU contributes through its opinions and proposals to the development and improvement of the policy for caring for patients and their relatives. It also ensures that users' rights are respected.
To this end, it is consulted on all institutional projects that modify patient pathways. It is informed about the "patient experience" strategy implemented at the university hospital (CHU).
This committee facilitates the procedures for these individuals and ensures that they can, if necessary, express their grievances to the institution’s management, hear their explanations, and be informed of the outcomes of their requests. The committee receives the necessary information to carry out its missions.
As such:
- It participates in quality improvement and certification initiatives.
- It is informed of the occurrence of serious adverse events and the actions taken by the institution to address them.
- It is informed of all complaints and expressions of gratitude.
- It develops and implements a user project.
- It gives an opinion on the annual report concerning isolation and restraint practices.
- It gathers feedback from volunteer associations that have signed an agreement with the CHU.
- It reports its analyses and proposals in an annual report.
